Garden on the terrace of a penthouse

This complex intensive garden was created on the terrace of a penthouse located on the top floor of a newly built residential building in Bucharest.

By closely following the instructions of the architects and the owners, impressive quantities of materials as well as decorative and stabilizing elements were transported and installed in order to ensure optimal conditions for the vegetation. Large and medium-sized trees were anchored to withstand the frequent wind gusts in the area, while the shrubs were planted in planters or in areas defined as planters, edged with Corten steel sheets.

In order not to overload the terrace, a special ultra-lightweight substrate was used, suitable for this type of terrace, where the maximum load was 400 kg/m². Naturally, the final technical operation in completing the green terrace was a thorough general cleaning, so that we could leave behind a spotless area, as if no gardening work had taken place there for two days.
