In order to evaluate the compatibility of this layer, the followings must be checked: the quality of the material, its thickness, weight and tensile strength. It protects the waterproofing and the insulation of the green roof. It is able to absorb 3-6 l/m² moisture, depending on the product. The geotextile mechanically protects lower layers against drainage elements and also helps the uniform distribution of storm water, which was not taken over by the drainage layer.
