References Residential Green roof on an old apartment building in Bucharest 1 min read 3 7,061 A project implemented by Asociația Cartierul Aviației, funded through the LIDL grant “Together with Lidl for a Better Future”, proving that civic initiatives can deliver results. The extensive green roof system was installed on the roof of an apartment building built in the 1980s, in a typical, crowded neighborhood. It was a logistical challenge both to transport the materials to the site and to provide crane access to the area. Supplying the irrigation system, necessary for the viability of the project, again required planning and negotiation efforts with hesitant residents 🙂 as well as execution efforts, since there was no other solution than installing a water section on the exterior of the building.
