Green roof on a residential complex in Brașov

For this residential complex, the project quite literally kept our heads in the clouds, as we worked on the 11th floor. The challenge was twofold: we had to install an extensive green roof at height, while also developing the green space below, located above the complex’s underground parking, treating the two phases as separate projects.

If the height didn’t intimidate us, the logistics seriously tested our patience. We had to commute back and forth multiple times, as the workfront appeared and disappeared depending on how things unfolded on site. The tower crane, which was supposed to help us, turned out to be an untouchable “star” – always too busy with other tasks to lift our materials. So we learned to adapt, making the most of every available window to bring up the necessary layers.

In the end, we managed to transform cold concrete surfaces into vibrant living spaces, both at ground level and under the open sky, on the top floor. Even though we made more trips than planned, the satisfaction matches the effort: the building received a green “coat” that helps it integrate much better into Brașov’s mountainous landscape.
