Ultramodern leisure center with green roof

A new landmark is taking shape in the city of Comănești, on the banks of the Trotuş River: the “Trotuş” Leisure Center – with a total investment value exceeding 20 million Lei.

This center is a unique construction in the country, with 50% of its funding from European Union sources and 50% from the local budget. It will include a multifunctional hall with two stands, accommodating a total of 350 people. The indoor leisure hall will feature a multi-sport court suitable for football, handball, volleyball, basketball, and other sports, including table tennis.

The construction of the center is taking place in the stadium area, where a parking lot will also be developed. Two swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, a beach area, and a recreational activity zone will make this leisure center a sought-after destination for residents of the Trotuş Valley and visitors from other regions.

Equipped with a lighting system for nighttime activities, a 9.45m high observation tower, a photovoltaic park, and a green roof, the leisure center will form a modern and eco-friendly architectural complex.

The ecological roof of this special facility is being constructed over an area of approximately 3200 m², as a semi-extensive green terrace using reinforced Sedum vegetation rolls.

This modern leisure center with its semi-cylindrical green roof will certainly become a distinctive and popular attraction soon, especially since such buildings are relatively rare due to the difficulty of construction.

By participating in this project, we had the opportunity to build one of the most challenging green roofs in Eastern Europe.

The project is extremely beautiful, yet technically demanding, as we had to create a viable green roof on a highly curved slope with limited anchoring possibilities.
